An Update on Remote Learning from Dr. Rodgers
Dr. Kenneth Rodgers, Jr.
President and Head of School
Dear SLA families, faculty, and staff,
I appreciate your patience as we assess rapidly changing weather conditions and continue to check in with our affected community members. I have just finished a call with the California Association of Independent Schools and Los Angeles County officials. Given the volume of faculty, administrators, and families in our community that remain displaced, and given the most up-to-date information and advisories we are receiving, we are electing to conduct virtual learning tomorrow, Monday, January 13.
Students, you will find Zoom links posted in the Blackbaud bulletin boards for each of your classes, and we will follow a normal Monday schedule. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your teachers or administrators with any questions. We look forward to reconvening with you and sharing space tomorrow, albeit virtually.
County officials have made it very clear that the return of high winds tonight and through the coming week—likely peaking on Tuesday—will require that we continue making day-to-day assessments.
Again, I am enormously grateful for your patience, resilience, and continued support, and my thoughts remain with all those in our community affected by the fires.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Rodgers, Jr.
President and Head of School
